Job Description

Job Title: Residential Children's Home Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Residential Children's Home Manager to lead our modern and spacious detached children's homes. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing a positive living experience for the resident young people and ensuring the highest standard of care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Staff Management: Manage the staff and resources of the Home to provide a positive living experience for the resident young people.
  • Care and Development: Oversee, on a day-to-day basis, the care, safety, and development of all residents, alongside the management, development, and coordination of the home and its outreach work.
  • Implementation of Plans: Ensure that the agreed plans at the Home are implemented.
  • Work Practices: Monitor and review the work practices of all staff in their day-to-day work with the young people, parents, Social Workers, other agencies, and the public and those they encounter on outreach work.
  • Training and Development: Attend training opportunities, as required.
  • Health and Safety: Ensuring that employees are aware of their responsibilities under the Health and Safety Act 1974, to carry out agreed safety procedures in maintaining a safe environment for all people involved in the company.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Experience of working with children with MH EBD & challenging behaviours in a residential setting.
  • Leadership and Management: Experience of facilitating, organizing, and directing & developing teams.
  • Childcare Standards: Experience of using childcare Standards & best practice model to guide decision making.
  • Policy Implementation: Experience of translating policy into practice.
  • Management Qualifications: Management Qualifications.
  • Management Training: Management training & experience.
  • Child Related Qualifications: Child related/Social care qualifications.
  • Equal Opportunities: Knowledge of Equal opportunities & diversity models.
  • Childcare Laws: Up to date knowledge of Childcare & Child Protection Laws.
  • Basic IT: Basic knowledge of IT.
  • NVQ 5: NVQ 5 Leadership and management or working towards.
  • Ofsted Requirements: Full knowledge of Ofsted requirements.
  • DBS Check: Satisfactory DBS check.

Remuneration:

Up to £65k salary + bonus depending on experience and qualifications. Relocation package.
