Exciting Career Opportunity:

Consultant in Anaesthesia - Focus on Perioperative Medicine and Paediatric Anaesthesia

Barts Health NHS Trust is pleased to announce a full-time permanent Consultant position available at Whipps Cross Hospital, specifically for individuals with a subspecialty interest in Perioperative Medicine and Paediatric Anaesthesia. This role demands versatility to manage all anaesthetic specialties available at the facility, including participation in the out-of-hours consultant on-call rota.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Completion of CCT in anaesthesia or currently in training towards CCT
  • Registered with the GMC and possess a valid license to practice
  • Holding FRCA or an equivalent qualification
  • Minimum of 12 months dedicated advanced training or fellowship in perioperative medicine
  • Continuous training in paediatric anaesthesia for 6 months to 1 year
  • Familiarity with the UK healthcare system
  • Extensive experience in general anaesthesia and acute pain management

  • Proficient communication skills in English
  • Ability to lead and collaborate within a multidisciplinary team
  • Establishing strong relationships with patients, families, and colleagues
  • Ability to manage pressure and adapt to changing circumstances

Research and Quality Improvement:

  • Comprehension of research, quality improvement, and audit methodologies
  • Promotion of research, audit, and quality improvement initiatives
  • Published research related to anaesthesia and paediatric anaesthesia/perioperative medicine
