Job Title: Anaesthetist Consultant

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Anaesthetist Consultant to join our team at King's College Hospital. As a Consultant Anaesthetist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality anaesthetic care to patients undergoing surgery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide anaesthetic services for patients undergoing general, major, and high-risk surgery
  • Supervise junior medical staff and provide clinical guidance
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of anaesthesia services
  • Participate in departmental research and audit initiatives
  • Take an active role in the formulation and implementation of the department's business plan
  • Exercise professional leadership and foster a positive work environment
Requirements:
  • FRCA or equivalent qualification
  • Masters degree or equivalent
  • Additional qualifications in specialist areas, such as Perioperative Medicine or Regional Anaesthesia
  • Full registration with the GMC and completed subspecialty training programme in anaesthesia
  • Eligible to apply for a Substantive Consultant post
Desirable Skills:
  • Experience in delivering anaesthesia for general, major, and high-risk surgery
  • Award of CCT or equivalent
  • Experience in supervising junior colleagues
  • Major trauma management experience
  • Experience in high-risk obstetrics
  • Pre-assessment and perioperative medicine experience
