We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Anaesthetic Consultant to join our team at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our anaesthetic department, you will be responsible for providing clinical leadership and expertise in the delivery of high-quality anaesthetic services.
Key Responsibilities- Provide clinical supervision and guidance to junior medical staff, working collaboratively with other consultant colleagues to ensure the highest standards of patient care.
- Contribute to the formulation, implementation, and monitoring of the department's business plan, ensuring alignment with Trust objectives and strategic priorities.
- Ensure compliance with Trust infection prevention and control policies, and take ownership of implementing the Code of Practice within your department/area of responsibility.
- Develop and maintain expertise in specialist areas, such as Perioperative Medicine, Trauma Sciences, or Regional Anaesthesia, and contribute to the development of departmental policies and procedures.
- Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) and completion of a subspecialty training program in anaesthesia.
- Wide experience in delivering anaesthesia for general, major/high-risk surgery, and trauma/CEPOD surgery.
- Experience in high-risk obstetrics, pre-assessment, and perioperative medicine.
- Additional training or fellowship in a specialist area.
- Familiarity with the current structure of the Health Service and conversance with recent initiatives and changes.
- Thorough understanding of principles of medical audit, with experience of undertaking and completing audit projects and QIPs.
- Experience of clinical research, undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, and exam preparation.
