Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Anaesthetic Consultant to join our team at King's College Hospital. As a key member of our Department of Anaesthesia, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality anaesthetic services to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide anaesthetic services for general, major, and high-risk surgeries, as well as trauma and emergency cases.
  • Conduct pre-assessment and perioperative medicine services to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of the department's business plan, including fostering and developing projects to improve patient outcomes.
  • Provide clinical supervision and mentorship to junior medical staff.
  • Contribute to the formulation and implementation of infection prevention and control policies within the department.
Requirements
  • Full registration with the GMC and completion of a subspecialty training program in anaesthesia.
  • Eligibility to apply for a substantive consultant post, with a CCT or within 6 months of completion.
  • Experience in delivering anaesthesia for general, major, and high-risk surgeries, as well as trauma and emergency cases.
  • Pre-assessment and perioperative medicine experience.
  • Additional training or fellowship in a specialist area, such as perioperative medicine or trauma sciences.
