About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Midwife to join our team at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust. As a Midwife, you will be responsible for providing safe, clinically effective, and individualized care to women and birthing people throughout their pregnancy journey.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess, develop, implement, and evaluate programs of care.
  • Organize and provide midwifery care for patients assigned to you.
  • Utilize the full skills of a midwife practitioner to a named caseload of women.
  • Discuss development and changes with the Ward Manager/Team Leader.
  • Provide care to bereaved patients and their relatives.
  • Communicate effectively with multi-disciplinary professionals and agencies.
  • Take appropriate action to ensure patient safety.
  • Report accidents/incidents to the Ward Manager/Senior Midwife/Head of Midwifery.
  • Maintain midwifery procedures/guidelines in accordance with Trust policies and national guidance.
  • Ensure acceptable standards of care are maintained.
Requirements
  • Current, effective, and up-to-date registration with the UK Nursing and Midwifery Council.
  • Proven experience in all areas of midwifery practice.
  • Proven experience of delegation of workload when looking after a caseload.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Current/pending UK NMC registration.
  • Ability to undertake manual handling and movement tasks.
  • Flexible approach to working.
  • Awareness of self-presentation to patients and relatives.
  • Understanding of the organization's values.
