Job Description

The ideal candidate is a relationship builder with a strong passion for sales.

Promotes and sells consumables and instruments via various channels to customers and prospects, as determined by management. Utilizes a combination of selling techniques and tools to achieve goals. Is organized, a self-starter, comfortable using selling skills to build customer rapport and develop consultative sales relationships. Works independently and within a team environment, maintains administrative duties, and documents all activities in the CRM.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Meet or exceed established sales targets
  • Prospect for new business within target market segments
  • Maintain a comprehensive record of sales actions within CRM system
  • Create quotations and pricing agreements, following pricing guidelines
  • Participate in required and recommended training sessions to obtain and maintain product knowledge
  • Maintain key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Work cross-functionally to ensure full customer service and improve value selling opportunities

Support Functions:

  • Follow up with in-house support on all customer inquiries regarding complaints and application questions
  • Ensure timely and effective resolution to all queries

General Requirements:

  • Able to conduct effective online product demonstrations
  • Utilize all aspects of the CRM software system
  • Responsible for attaining and maintaining technical knowledge to support customers
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Degree in Life Sciences or a related field is preferred, or equivalent work experience

Work Experience:

  • Previous outbound sales experience with defined sales targets
  • Minimum 2 years' sales / inside sales experience in related industry preferred
  • Experience working in a life science lab preferred

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Computer proficiency required
  • CRM fluent for daily usage plus feeding and maintenance
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to write business correspondence and reports
  • Confident, persuasive, and winning sales presence
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts including discounts, percentages, and volume
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Comprehensive selling skills and techniques (including negotiation)
  • Ability to work independently, essential

Additional Requirements:

  • Fluent in business English and French.
  • A valid driver's license and access to own vehicle required
  • Up to 10% overnight travel potential
  • Regular attendance and punctuality
  • Ability to work well with others
  • Ability to acquire new skills and to accommodate change in the workplace
