The perfect candidate will be a skilled relationship builder with a deep enthusiasm for sales.

This role involves promoting and selling consumables and instruments through various channels including phone, email, and social selling platforms to a designated customer base as determined by management. The candidate will employ a mix of sales techniques and tools to meet objectives. The ideal individual is organized, self-motivated, and adept at using telephone sales skills to establish customer rapport and foster consultative sales relationships. This position requires working both independently and collaboratively within a team, managing administrative responsibilities, and documenting all activities in the CRM system.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Sales

  • Achieve or surpass established sales targets
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within targeted market segments
  • Maintain detailed records of sales activities in the CRM system
  • Prepare quotations and pricing agreements in accordance with pricing policies
  • Engage in necessary training sessions to enhance product knowledge
  • Meet key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Collaborate across departments to ensure comprehensive customer service and enhance value selling opportunities

Customer Support

  • Coordinate with internal support teams on customer inquiries regarding complaints and application-related questions
  • Ensure prompt and effective resolution of all customer queries

General Responsibilities

  • Conduct effective online demonstrations
  • Utilize all features of the CRM software
  • Maintain and enhance technical knowledge to assist customers
  • Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • A degree in Life Sciences or a related field is preferred, or equivalent professional experience

Experience

  • Prior experience in outbound phone sales with defined sales objectives
  • At least 2 years of sales or inside sales experience in a related industry is preferred
  • Experience in a life science laboratory setting is advantageous

Skills and Knowledge

  • Proficiency in computer applications is required
  • Fluency in CRM usage for daily operations, including data entry and maintenance
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business publications, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
  • Exceptional interpersonal and verbal communication skills
  • Capability to draft business correspondence and reports
  • Confident and persuasive phone presence
  • Ability to perform calculations including discounts, percentages, and volumes
  • Strong organizational abilities
  • Comprehensive sales skills and techniques, including negotiation
  • Ability to work independently is essential

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Fluency in business English and French is required
  • A valid driver's license and access to a personal vehicle are necessary
  • Willingness to travel overnight up to 10% of the time
  • Consistent attendance and punctuality are expected
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with others
  • Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to changes in the workplace

  • Experience in selling capital equipment
  • Laboratory experience using pipettes
