Sales Account Executive

The perfect candidate is a skilled relationship builder with a deep enthusiasm for sales.

They will promote and market consumables and instruments through various channels, including phone, email, and digital selling platforms to engage with customers and prospects as directed by management. The role requires a blend of sales techniques and tools to meet objectives. The ideal individual is organized, self-motivated, and adept at using telephone sales skills to foster customer relationships and develop consultative sales interactions. They will work both independently and collaboratively within a team, maintaining administrative responsibilities and documenting all activities in the CRM system.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Sales

  • Achieve or surpass set sales targets
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within targeted market segments
  • Keep detailed records of sales activities in the CRM system
  • Prepare quotations and pricing agreements in accordance with pricing policies
  • Engage in necessary training sessions to enhance product knowledge
  • Monitor and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Collaborate across departments to ensure comprehensive customer service and enhance value-selling opportunities

Customer Support

  • Coordinate with internal support teams on customer inquiries regarding issues and application queries
  • Ensure prompt and effective resolution of all customer questions

General Responsibilities

  • Conduct effective online demonstrations
  • Utilize all features of the CRM software system
  • Maintain and enhance technical knowledge to support customer needs
  • Perform other assigned duties as necessary

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • A degree in Life Sciences or a related field is preferred, or equivalent professional experience

Experience

  • Prior experience in outbound phone sales with established sales targets
  • At least 2 years of sales or inside sales experience in a related field is preferred
  • Experience in a life science laboratory setting is advantageous

Skills and Knowledge

  • Proficiency in computer applications is essential
  • Fluency in CRM usage for daily operations and maintenance
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business publications, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
  • Exceptional interpersonal and verbal communication abilities
  • Competence in writing business correspondence and reports
  • Confident and persuasive phone presence
  • Ability to perform calculations involving discounts, percentages, and volumes
  • Strong organizational capabilities
  • Comprehensive selling skills and techniques, including negotiation
  • Ability to work independently is crucial

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Fluency in business English and French is required
  • A valid driver's license and access to a personal vehicle are necessary
  • Willingness to travel overnight up to 10% of the time
  • Consistent attendance and punctuality are expected
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with others
  • Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to changes in the workplace

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in selling capital equipment
  • Laboratory experience with pipetting
