Position Overview
We are currently seeking a Lead Child Welfare Specialist to join our team, specifically within the Children with Disabilities (CWD) division. This role requires a registered social worker with a recognized professional qualification and substantial experience in child services.

Key Responsibilities
1. **Child Advocacy**: Ensure the well-being and interests of children and young people are prioritized in all aspects of your work.
2. **Mentorship**: Supervise and support a student social worker, collaborating closely with the Assistant Team Manager.
3. **Professional Development**: Commit to achieving the Practice Educator Professional Standards for social work, particularly at stage 2.
4. **Case Management**: Conduct thorough assessments, critically analyze situations, and implement effective interventions for complex cases, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations and managing risks effectively.
5. **Documentation**: Produce clear, structured assessments, plans, and reports, ensuring all analyses and recommendations are well-documented.
6. **Engagement**: Build meaningful relationships with children, young people, and their families, actively seeking their input to inform practice and decision-making.
7. **Collaboration**: Work alongside colleagues and external agencies to deliver effective services, empowering parents and caregivers to foster safe parenting practices.
8. **Performance Accountability**: Take responsibility for your individual performance, aligning with national standards and team-specific performance indicators.
9. **Continuous Learning**: Engage in ongoing professional development, staying informed about national, regional, and local policy changes.
10. **Quality Assurance**: Participate in routine observations and audits to uphold the highest standards of social work practice.
11. **Relationship Building**: Maintain effective internal and external relationships to ensure resources are available for optimal outcomes for children and young people.
12. **Cultural Competence**: Ensure all interventions are conducted within an anti-discriminatory framework, considering diverse community needs.
