About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Head of Operations and Event Management Specialist to join our team at Walsh Employment. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the management and development of our operations team, ensuring the smooth delivery of events and services across the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the operations team, including the Head of Event Ops, Operations Manager, Operations Coordinator, and Event Day Managers, in the planning and delivery of events and services.
- Develop and implement operational strategies to ensure the effective management of events and services, including traffic management, security, and crowd control.
- Collaborate with the Staffing and Recruitment Manager and Training Department to ensure the correct number and quality of resources are available to meet future needs.
- Lead on all event day HR issues and work with the HR Lead to resolve and rectify any issues.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, and partners.
- Ensure all events have an operations pack, including up-to-date risk assessments, traffic management plans, crowd management plans, and commercial plans.
- Manage all company equipment, stock, vehicles, and uniforms across the UK.
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices, and implement new ideas and innovations to improve operations and services.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in an operational or events environment, with a proven track record of effective coaching and mentoring.
- Experience in line management, with a proven track record of effective coaching and mentoring.
- Ability to work outside of role to support the growth and success of the business, often at pace.
- Must hold a UK driving license and have extensive UK travel experience.
- SIA DS license desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think critically and make informed decisions.
