Role Overview:
Our team is responsible for providing food solutions to over 150,000 Amazon Associates across more than 300 locations in the EU. The food services division encompasses canteens, vending machines, smart fridges, mini markets, and more, all aimed at fostering an environment that enhances employee productivity and a sense of belonging.

Position Summary:
We are looking for a Senior Category Manager to help us develop and implement top-tier procurement strategies for managing our canteen, vending, and other food service offerings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate and build trust with key stakeholders across Operations, Human Resources, Finance, and other departments.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, key players, macroeconomic factors, and pricing models to support informed decision-making.
  • Lead sourcing events (RFx) from planning through execution, including awards and change management.
  • Establish performance management systems to ensure the success of our solutions, working with stakeholders to define metrics.
  • Negotiate with suppliers on key terms and conditions, emphasizing innovation, sustainability, and supplier diversity.
  • Develop risk mitigation strategies to address potential challenges or unexpected events.
  • Implement cost-effective methods to ensure optimal pricing conditions for Amazon, coordinating with finance teams.
  • Serve as an escalation point for performance improvement needs.
  • Prepare documentation for project management, communication plans, and agreements.
  • Foster relationships with suppliers and explore potential partnerships.
  • Identify alternative sources to maintain a competitive environment.
  • Participate in teams focused on planning, developing, and implementing new tools and improving standard processes to support Amazon's procurement functions.

A Day in the Life:
Engage with key stakeholders across EU countries to align on supplier selection, service scope, fees, and other critical elements. Negotiate inflationary increases and explore rebates and additional value initiatives with vendors to enhance service and cost efficiency. Conduct detailed reviews of specific site requests and escalations related to canteen and vending services.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, macros, and data analysis functions.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time.
  • Ability to influence leaders through formal decision-making processes.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree or MBA in business, operations, human resources, or a related field.
  • Experience in leading process improvements.
