Job Title: Carer/Personal Assistant for Autistic Teenager

Job Type: Part-time

Hours: 8 hours per week, flexible, daytime

Hourly Rate: £12.50 per hour

About the Role:

We are seeking a caring and experienced Carer/Personal Assistant to support a 16-year-old autistic boy in his daily life. The successful candidate will assist with daily tasks, provide emotional support, and help the individual to develop his interests and skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with daily living tasks, such as cooking, baking, and cleaning
  • Provide emotional support and companionship
  • Help the individual to develop his interests in IT, cooking, and the environment
  • Support the individual with his sensory profile, including noise, smell, and light sensitivity
  • Assist with preparing the individual's environment to meet his needs
  • Provide support with germaphobia and fear of dogs

Requirements:

  • Experience working with individuals with autism
  • Good attention to detail and a caring nature
  • Ability to work flexibly and independently
  • Reliable and punctual

Lothian Centre for Inclusive Living provides support to individual disabled employers and offers a competitive hourly rate of £12.50 per hour.
