About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Academic Engagement Specialist to join our team at NHS North Central London Integrated Care Board. The successful candidate will play a key role in championing the voice of patients and residents, providing engagement expertise to support ICB priorities, and working in partnership with members of the wider communications and engagement team to deliver joined-up communications and engagement strategies.

The postholder will support the ICB to meet its statutory duties and embed the aims and principles of the ICB Working with People and Communities and Working with Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprises strategies. This will involve advising on and delivering best practice engagement and involvement activity to improve population health, including service changes, transformation projects, behaviour change programmes, and so on at system, place, and neighbourhood level.

The successful candidate will have experience of developing and implementing effective community engagement strategies, evaluating engagement and involvement activities, and working in partnership to deliver shared objectives. They will also have a strong understanding of the interests and drivers in the local healthcare system and be able to engage effectively with stakeholders to understand their needs and develop appropriate solutions and programmes.

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced individual who can work to the highest standards, demonstrating resilience to pressure, a willingness to adapt quickly to changing situations, and the ability to work flexibly and retain due professionalism at all times. The successful candidate will also have excellent communications skills, including oral, written, and presentation skills, and be able to form and maintain productive, professional working relationships with a diverse range of individuals and groups.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise on and deliver best practice engagement and involvement activity to improve population health

Requirements

  • Experience of developing and implementing effective community engagement strategies

What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary of £54,320 to £60,981 per annum, inclusive of Inner London HCA, and a fixed-term contract of 12 months. The successful candidate will also have access to a range of benefits, including a pension scheme, annual leave, and training and development opportunities.
