About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team at Transport Focus as an Academic Engagement Manager.

As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that the voice of Britain's transport user is at the centre of our policy decisions and investment in the transport network.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain relationships with academic institutions and researchers to inform our policy decisions and ensure that the latest research and data are incorporated into our work.
  • Work closely with our policy team to analyze and interpret complex research, data, and statistics to inform our policy recommendations.
  • Collaborate with our communications team to develop high-quality written outputs that effectively communicate our policy recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the development of our policy positions and recommendations through a collaborative approach and willingness to contribute to projects and workstreams outside of your immediate team.
  • Ability to work across multiple projects and programmes of work, prioritizing tasks and managing competing deadlines.
Requirements
  • Experience of working in a policy or research environment, with a strong understanding of the transport sector and its challenges.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and research.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to produce high-quality written outputs, with a strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
