About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Pre-Legal Collections Manager to lead our existing, award-winning pre-legal collections team. As a key member of our Legal Operations team, you will be responsible for focusing and growing profitable revenue for the Division/Practice Group/Area from existing clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of over 20 paralegals delivering pre-legal collections services to a number of existing clients across various sectors.
  • Be the main contact for key clients, attending client meetings, developing strategies, implementing them, and monitoring their success.
  • Deliver on the implementation of the business plan and translate it into clear plans and objectives to ensure the team is effectively utilized and the strategy is delivered.
  • Develop and strengthen client relationships in line with the Division/Practice Group/Area and Firm strategy to maximize revenue and margins, as well as manage costs responsibly.
  • Manage, support, and develop a specific practice area team to ensure delivery of the required standards of client service, profitability, and effective use of resources to achieve repeat business.
  • Lead and deliver on financial targets and ensure compliance with the management of Lock-up (WIP and Debt).

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A senior legal or collections professional with a divisional manager and authority in the pre-legal collections field, recognized across the business as a source of knowledge and insight.
  • In-depth knowledge of the sector in which they operate, proactively strengthening knowledge in new trends and risks.
  • Experience of/within collections field, able to demonstrate an ability to manage resources effectively, maximize recoveries for our clients, and revenue for DWF.
  • An ability to leverage their understanding of the Business' strategic direction (products, service lines, sectors) and our Clients' needs (markets, sectors, risks) to inform and drive Practice performance.
  • A track record of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Embrace service excellence and apply it consistently to their role.
  • Anticipate and adapt to change internally and/or in response to the needs of our clients.
  • Experience of leading people development, supporting the skills and knowledge progression of junior members of the team through coaching, supervision, and feedback.
  • Advantageous to have a client following.
