Position Overview:

ENGIE is on the lookout for a Collections Team Leader to enhance our operations in Leeds. This role is pivotal in overseeing the recovery of outstanding debts through a variety of methods, including disconnections and legal proceedings. The position comes with a competitive salary, performance bonuses, and a comprehensive benefits package. Full-time commitment from Monday to Friday is required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervising the Collections and Disconnections team, including managing legal procedures
  • Engaging with clients and their representatives to facilitate debt recovery
  • Collaborating with the internal legal department on significant claims
  • Authorizing settlements and sanctioning legal actions
  • Maintaining accurate documentation for debt recovery and legal processes
  • Coordinating with external legal advisors throughout the legal proceedings
  • Addressing inquiries from external solicitors
  • Managing costs associated with legal actions
  • Approving invoices related to disconnections and legal expenses

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with gas and electricity sector operations
  • Understanding of credit management and customer journey
  • Excellent organizational and numerical capabilities
  • Strong verbal communication and reasoning skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to solve problems and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Experience in credit management and team leadership is advantageous

Educational Requirements:

  • GCSE English and Mathematics Grade C (or equivalent)
