Clinical Lead Psychiatrist, East Assessment and Treatment Service

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our East Assessment and Treatment Service (ATS) in Brighton & Hove. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing specialist medical and psychiatric assessments and evidence-based treatment to patients with complex and unstable mental health needs.
Key Responsibilities- Provide specialist medical and psychiatric assessments and treatment to patients referred to the service.
- Provide clinical supervision to the Higher Specialty Trainee (HST) and informal advice and supervision to non-medical members of the team.
- Fulfill the duties of Responsible Clinician for patients subject to Community Treatment Orders, including attendance at Managers Hearings and Tribunals.
- Conduct Mental Health Act assessments for patients on the team caseload.
- Liaise with inpatient Responsible Clinicians.
- Liaise with the forensic team and drug and alcohol services as required.
Our team is a large, multi-disciplinary community mental health team that provides specialist assessments and treatment to patients with complex and unstable mental health needs. We are a teaching Trust with strong links with Brighton and Sussex Medical School (BSMS) and offer a supportive and collaborative working environment.
