We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Lead Psychiatrist to join our East Assessment and Treatment Service (ATS) in Brighton & Hove. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing specialist medical and psychiatric assessments and evidence-based treatment to patients referred to the service.
The successful candidate will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care and services to patients with complex and unstable mental health needs. You will be expected to provide clinical supervision to our Health Service Trainees (HSTs) and informal advice and supervision to non-medical members of the team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialist medical and psychiatric assessments and evidence-based treatment to patients referred to the service.
- Provide clinical supervision to HSTs and informal advice and supervision to non-medical team members.
- Fulfill the duties of Responsible Clinician for patients subject to Community Treatment Orders, including attendance at Managers Hearings and Tribunals.
- Conduct Mental Health Act assessments for patients on the team caseload.
- Liaise with inpatient Responsible Clinicians and other stakeholders as required.
Requirements:
- Excellent clinical skills using a bio-psycho-social perspective and wide medical knowledge.
- A wide range of specialist and sub-specialist experience relevant to the post within the NHS or comparable services.
- The ability to manage clinical complexity and uncertainty.
- Commitment to shared leadership and collaborative working to deliver improvement.
- The ability to work in a participatory way, ensuring shared decision-making and conversations around formulation, diagnosis, and ongoing care are a collaborative endeavor with patients.
