Research Assistant in Cloud Data Management and Supply Chain Observatory Practice

**Job Summary**

A position exists for a Research Assistant in the Department of Engineering at the University of Cambridge to work on the 'UK-India Virtual Critical Minerals Supply Chain Observatory' project.

**Key Responsibilities and Duties**

  • Identify critical mineral supply chain data sources and datasets necessary for enabling end-to-end critical mineral supply chain transparency, visibility, and traceability.
  • Ingest and manage retrieved supply chain datasets in Google Cloud storage using Google Cloud Platform tools.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including researchers, industry partners, policymakers, and international collaborators from the UK and India.
  • Report, document, and assist in operationalising global supply chain observatory practice.

**Required Skills, Qualifications, and Experience**

  • Undergraduate or Master's degree in Industrial Engineering.
  • Experience in digitalisation and cloud technologies.
  • Experience in data management in Google Cloud Platform using its tools and services.
  • Experience in stakeholder engagement and consulting.
  • Knowledge of critical minerals supply chains and their global significance.
  • Proven ability to effectively present and communicate with academic and industrial partners.
  • Able to collaborate effectively with research group members and external colleagues.
  • Research or work experience in global supply chains.
  • Highly organised, able to prioritise and work efficiently to agreed objectives and timelines.
  • Potential to develop a leading role in projects in the Industrial Resilience Research Group.

**Salary and Benefits**

Research Assistant: £31,396 - £33,966 (pro-rata)
