As we expand, we are looking for a skilled Supply Chain Operations Lead to become part of our vibrant team, overseeing customer support, logistics, supply chain management, and office operations.
Job Overview:
The Supply Chain Operations Lead will manage all facets of customer support, order management, inventory preparation, internal logistics, and order fulfillment. This role is hands-on, requiring active participation in daily operations while also leading a small team.
Key Responsibilities:
Order Management:
- Supervise the order processing cycle, from quotation to order receipt and fulfillment, ensuring precision and efficiency.
- Collaborate with sales and customer support teams to prioritize orders, address discrepancies, and fulfill customer delivery expectations.
- Establish and uphold order management protocols and systems to enhance processes and boost order accuracy.
- Track order fulfillment metrics, analyze performance data, and initiate continuous improvement strategies.
- Address customer inquiries via email and phone on various topics, including providing quotes, processing orders, and advising on delivery timelines.
Logistics Management:
- Oversee transportation logistics, including freight forwarding, customs procedures, and scheduling.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers and logistics partners to optimize shipping routes, reduce transit times, and lower shipping expenses.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory standards and quality benchmarks for product transportation and handling.
- Resolve logistics challenges, such as delays, damages, or lost shipments, and implement corrective measures.
- Manage the picking, packing, and shipping of finished goods for both domestic and international deliveries.
Supply Chain Strategy:
- Formulate and execute effective supply chain strategies to optimize inventory levels, reduce costs, and guarantee timely product delivery.
- Monitor inventory levels, track shipment timelines, and manage stock replenishment to satisfy customer demand.
- Identify and address supply chain challenges to minimize disruptions and maintain seamless operations.
- Receive stock from supply chain partners and prepare these units for storage and/or customer orders.
Team Leadership:
- Lead and mentor a team of customer support and logistics coordinators, providing guidance, training, and support.
- Cultivate a collaborative and results-oriented work environment, promoting teamwork, accountability, and ongoing improvement.
- Set performance objectives, assess team performance, and implement strategies to enhance productivity and efficiency.
This role encompasses a variety of responsibilities, and additional tasks such as managing office supplies, overseeing deliveries, and other operational duties may also be required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a life science discipline (advanced degrees preferred).
- Demonstrated experience in logistics, supply chain, or operations management, ideally within the life science or biotechnology sectors.
- Strong understanding of logistics principles, transportation regulations, and supply chain best practices.
- Proficiency with order management systems, inventory management software, and logistics tools.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal abilities.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong work ethic and a high degree of independence.
