About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Materials Manager to join our supply chain team based in Cambridge. As a Materials Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing key supply chain functions with a focus on operational excellence and environmental responsibility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supply Chain Management: Ensure adherence to site supply chain management aligned with Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies and environmental protection protocols.
  • Leadership and Guidance: Provide strong leadership and guidance to the site Supply Chain team to consistently deliver efficient and timely supply chain solutions.
  • Master Production Plan Management: Manage the site's Master Production Plan in collaboration with the Plant Manager and European Supply Chain Manager.
  • Production Scheduling: Develop robust production schedules with risk assessments to optimize customer service levels and plant efficiency.
  • Inventory Management: Implement replenishment strategies to achieve agreed inventory levels for raw materials, intermediates, and finished goods.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate closely with manufacturing operations to maximize customer service and on-time delivery.
  • Supply Chain Improvement: Lead local supply chain improvement projects to drive operational excellence.
  • Supplier Relationships: Manage supplier relationships to ensure consistent and reliable material supply for production and site activities.
  • Talent Development: Develop talent within the Supply Chain function through effective coaching and talent development plans in collaboration with Regional/Global teams.

Requirements:

  • Education: Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience: Extensive supply chain experience in a senior operational role within a multinational organization.
  • Certifications: CPIM and/or CSCP certification (APICS) preferred.
  • Skills: Strong interpersonal and organizational skills within a multicultural environment.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to motivate and collaborate across different organizational levels.
  • Improvement Programs: Experience leading improvement programs in a manufacturing setting.
  • Systems Knowledge: Knowledge of raw material planning, procurement, scheduling, and inventory control systems.
  • AX2012 Systems: Familiarity with AX2012 systems is advantageous.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel internationally 10 – 15% of the time.
