Job Title: Medical Welfare Officer with Learning Support Assistant

Job Summary:

Lifelancer Ltd is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Welfare Officer to join our team. As a Medical Welfare Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the health and wellbeing of students, while also providing Learning Support Assistant duties to support their academic progress.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Medical Welfare: Provide first aid, administer medication, and monitor the health and wellbeing of students.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of student medical conditions, treatments, and support plans.
  • Communication: Liaise with parents, carers, and medical professionals to ensure students receive appropriate care.
  • Academic Support: Support students with special educational needs (SEN) and disabilities in the classroom, working alongside teachers to assist with their academic development.
  • Learning Support Assistant: Provide Learning Support Assistant (LSA) duties, including 1:1 and small group support for students in KS3 and KS4.
  • Environment: Promote a safe and inclusive environment, addressing both physical and emotional needs.

Essential Criteria:

  • First Aid Qualification: First Aid qualification or willingness to complete one.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a medical welfare or student care role within a secondary school or similar environment.
  • Working with Children: Experience working with children or young people, ideally with SEN.
  • Communication and Organisation: Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage sensitive information professionally.
  • Approach: A compassionate, patient, and proactive approach to student care and academic support.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
