Job Title: Learning Support Assistant - Therapeutic Role

Job Summary:

Empowering Learning is seeking a Psychology Graduate to support a Secondary SEND School in a therapeutic learning support assistant role. The successful candidate will work with pupils aged 11-19 with a primary diagnosis of Autism, providing emotional regulation support and promoting inclusion in learning activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils with Autism in a therapeutic and nurturing environment
  • Engage and support pupils' learning, promoting academic achievement
  • Develop therapeutic relationships with pupils, enhancing emotional regulation
  • Maximize pupil inclusion in learning activities, promoting social and emotional development

Requirements:

  • Experience in supporting children or young adults with SEND needs is desirable but not essential
  • Able to de-escalate and support emotional regulation, promoting a safe learning environment
  • Valid DBS registration or willingness to apply for a new one
  • Availability to commit to at least 12-39 weeks, working 5 days a week
