Head of IT Operations

Jas Gujral is a prominent financial institution with a strong presence in the banking sector.

Position Overview:

We are in search of a highly experienced Head of IT Operations with a robust background in software and application development specifically within the investment and private banking domains.

The successful candidate will possess a solid history of steering IT transformation initiatives, delivering comprehensive solutions across various customer interfaces, and leading both software development and infrastructure technology teams.

This position will report directly to the executive leadership and will require collaboration with diverse stakeholders throughout the organization, including Human Resources, Finance, Treasury, Risk Management, Compliance, Data Governance, and Business Transformation.

The Head of IT Operations will be accountable for managing the daily functions of the IT department, overseeing IT projects, enforcing and upholding network security protocols, and formulating IT strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct and supervise the IT department, which includes both software application development and infrastructure technology teams.
  • Lead and manage software and application development projects from conception to implementation, ensuring high standards and timely completion.
  • Propel IT transformation projects within the banking sector to improve operational efficiency and enhance customer experience.
  • Provide IT solutions across various customer interfaces, including online banking platforms, mobile applications, and in-branch systems.
  • Develop and enforce IT policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with senior management and stakeholders, including Human Resources, Finance, Treasury, Risk Management, Compliance, Data Governance, and Business Transformation, to assess IT requirements and devise strategies to meet them.
  • Ensure adherence to industry regulations and standards.
  • Manage IT budgets, resources, and vendor partnerships.
  • Report to the executive leadership on IT strategy, progress, and performance metrics.
  • Cultivate a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the IT department.
  • Demonstrate expertise in IT Management and Information Technology.
  • Exhibit experience in IT Operations and IT Strategy.
  • Possess knowledge of Network Security.
  • Showcase strong leadership and project management capabilities.
  • Display excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
  • At least 10 years of experience in IT management, with a strong emphasis on software and application development.
  • Extensive experience in leading IT transformation projects within investment and private banking settings.
  • Proven success in delivering IT solutions across various customer interfaces.
  • Strong understanding of banking operations, regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage both software development and infrastructure technology teams effectively.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders, including Human Resources, Finance, Treasury, Risk Management, Compliance, Data Governance, and Business Transformation.
  • Strategic thinker with the capability to execute plans methodically.
  • Familiarity with emerging technologies and trends in digital banking.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Agile and DevOps methodologies.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices within the banking industry.
  • Familiarity with cloud computing and data analytics.

This role offers a hybrid working arrangement with a requirement for in-office presence.
