Job Summary

The HR and Payroll Manager will oversee all human resources and payroll practices, processes, and strategies for a not-for-profit organisation in the wellness sector. This role is responsible for managing all people-related employment matters, including performance, learning and development, recruitment, payroll, benefits, reward, and support systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and encourage a positive organisational culture
  • Provide expertise in all employment-related matters, including attendance management, grievances, investigations, and disciplinaries
  • Oversee compensation, reward, and recognition activities
  • Organise and oversee all matters relating to the employee lifecycle, from recruitment and selection to onboarding, TUPE joiners, inductions, retention, and leavers
  • Act as the key payroll point of contact, overseeing overtime submission, sickness, and absence changes to payroll, and liaising with an external payroll company
  • Manage, monitor, and evaluate HR performance, providing regular statistical data against key performance indicators and determining new criteria for continuous improvement
  • Manage all learning and development requirements across the organisation

Requirements

  • Demonstrable experience in a similar HR and Payroll role, ideally in a not-for-profit or leisure sector
  • CIPD level 5 qualification or higher
  • Ability to start a new role early/mid-October
