Overview: A prominent organization is seeking a dedicated Financial Operations Manager to support the financial and administrative functions within a Multi Academy Trust. This role transcends traditional finance responsibilities, as it encompasses a hands-on approach to the operational management of educational institutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Oversight: Administer orders, invoices, and payments utilizing the Trust's financial management software. Address queries related to purchase orders and invoices in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with established financial protocols.
  • Procurement Excellence: Facilitate effective procurement strategies by sourcing quotes for goods and services. Review service level agreements (SLAs) and contracts to ensure optimal value for the Trust.
  • Asset Management & Compliance: Maintain the asset register and implement organized filing systems for audit purposes. Oversee the management of the Petty Cash account.
  • Reporting & Forecasting: Generate monthly management accounts, analyze variances between actuals and budget, and develop comprehensive 5-year financial forecasts.
  • Staff Support & Compliance: Provide financial guidance to budget holders, monitor payroll reports for discrepancies, and ensure adherence to financial regulations among staff.
  • Additional Duties: Coordinate policy reviews, oversee self-funded academy trips, collaborate on maintenance projects, manage employee records, and report on catering income and expenditures. Supervise the Finance Administrator and ensure effective site management and health and safety compliance.

Candidate Profile: The ideal candidate will possess a finance background, with a minimum qualification of AAT and experience in a dynamic finance environment. This is a full-time position, with opportunities for flexible working arrangements during school holidays.
