**The Role**

Your role as People and Engagement Advisor is to work closely with the People and Engagement Lead to provide practical, comprehensive and customer focused HR advice and support to direct reports and colleagues relating to various HR solutions including employee relations support, business change, health and wellbeing; ensuring implementation of legislation, policy and best practice at all times. You will be pivotal in helping us develop, nuture and empower our high-performing people.

This is an office-based role at our Hyde, Greater Manchester depot, working Monday to Friday, between the hours of 8:30am - 5pm.

**Key Responsibilities**
- To act as first point of contact for employee relations matters including conducting disciplinary and grievance hearings when required.
- To support direct reports with performance management of their Teams.
- To support the People Team in ensuring the Company is compliant with relevant employment legislation
- To play a key role in supporting the performance review processes including collating and monitoring completion of goals and critical priroties across the business.
- To support with monthly Payroll processing.
- To manage and update the HR system.
- To manage the new starter/leaver process inc. documentation, reference checks, work notices, probationary reviews etc
- To support with colleagues surveys, managing feedback and actions that arise from this.
- To work alongside direct reports to monitor training requirements across the business.
- To work collaboratively with the People Team to undertake or contribute to HR projects and initiatives as required.
- To lead recruitment campaigns alongside direct reports.
- To manage HR record keeping inc. colleague files, recording colleague performance meetings etc
- To lead the implementation and continuous improvement of HR policies and processes and updating of our Company handbook in line with these.
- To lead our internal reward and recognition programme inc. managing our recognition platform and POP Awards.

**To succeed you will**:

- Have experience at HR Advisor level from previous employment.
- Have a Level 5 CIPD Human Resource Management qualification.
- Have the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with people at all levels across the business.
- To have the ability to think from a colleague perspective, having empathy for individuals whilst balancing business needs.
- Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Have exceptional organisational skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Have experience of coaching and facilitating direct reports to develop capability and challenge performance issues.
- Be a strong team player.
- Be a solutions focused individual.
- Be agile and adapt to changing business needs.
- Have experience of working with Investors in People (Desirable).
- Have experience of supporting the Payroll function (Desirable).

**Experience**:
