Position Overview

The role of the Senior Finance Business Partner is pivotal in facilitating strategic financial planning and analytical reporting. This position requires a strong background in financial management, particularly in relation to business case studies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough reviews and analyses of financial performance, generating detailed reports and insights for project managers and business unit leaders to monitor profitability against established budgets.
  • Provide essential costing information to project managers and finance teams, ensuring timely issuance of bids and contracts.
  • Oversee the preparation and analysis of month-end financial statements, ensuring compliance with financial policies and accurate recognition of revenues and expenditures.
  • Assist in the budgeting and forecasting processes, fostering collaborative relationships with project and senior managers to develop comprehensive budgets and forecasts.
  • Prepare formal financial reports for clients and coordinate with auditors to ensure timely payments for services rendered.
  • Maintain a robust control environment, managing relevant balance sheet accounts and ensuring thorough reconciliation with supporting documentation for audit purposes.
  • Collaborate with the Capital Project Accountant to report on capital expenditures and provide clear commentary on spending variances.

Qualifications

  • Part-qualified or qualified by experience in a recognized accounting body (ACA, ACCA, CIMA).

Experience Required

  • Proven experience in commercial accounting, project costing, and financial forecasting.
  • Experience working with business case studies.
  • Strong capabilities in strategic and analytical reporting.
  • Ability to work closely with business teams in a partnership capacity.
  • Understanding of revenue recognition principles and multi-funding control requirements.
  • High proficiency in Excel and familiarity with ERP accounting systems (experience with Unit 4 (Agresso) is a plus).
  • Able to meet challenging deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
  • Team-oriented with a collaborative mindset.
