London, Greater London, United Kingdom UK Civil Service Full time

Job Overview

His Majesty's Naval Base Clyde (HMNB Clyde) serves as a pivotal site for the United Kingdom's Strategic Nuclear Deterrent, hosting advanced submarines and specialized military units. This operational base is dedicated to providing essential engineering and logistical support to the Royal Navy, ensuring the maintenance of Continuous at Sea Deterrent (CASD) capabilities.

At HMNB Clyde, we foster a collaborative and adaptable work environment where Civil Servants, Armed Forces personnel, and Contractors unite to fulfill a variety of operationally focused roles.

The Support Capability Team plays a crucial role in assessing and enhancing future support frameworks by identifying current service provisions and addressing any gaps. This team is also responsible for the Service Delivery Group (SDG), which oversees contract and financial management for the Future Maritime Support Programme (FMSP).

We are currently seeking a Senior Performance Manager to join the SDG. This role involves overseeing the integration of new requirements into contracts, driving improvement initiatives, and managing transformation and transition activities related to contracted outputs within the FMSP.

Key Responsibilities

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Facilitating communication between Customers and the SDG for all new contracted requirements related to Hard Facility Management & Alongside Services (Hard FM & ALS) and Soft Facility Management (Soft FM) contracts.
  • Coordinating the integration of existing and new contracted outputs for FMSP Hard FM & ALS and Soft FM contracts, ensuring a unified response to Customer feedback.
  • Leading transition activities associated with Soft FM and Hard FM & ALS contracts throughout the procurement cycle, ensuring all outputs are effectively transitioned to Full Operating Capability (FOC).
  • Driving Continuous Improvement initiatives by collaborating with Customers and Industry to identify and implement enhancements to contracted outputs.
  • Managing Industry transformation activities to ensure benefits are realized and accurately reflected in contracts.
  • Collaborating with other SDG Senior Performance Managers and FMSP contracts to ensure the delivery of cross-lot Government Furnished Assets (GFA) services.
  • Providing analytical support to the FMSP Operational Coordination Board and acting as deputy to the Assistant Head SDG in various governance boards.
  • Utilizing FMSP contract management systems to maintain accurate and up-to-date information, and supporting governance processes through data analysis.
  • Contributing to the monthly consolidation and reporting of contract performance and financial data, including variance explanations and recovery plans.
  • Providing coverage for the Assistant Head SDG and other contracts managed by the SDG as needed.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a proactive approach to change and possess a strong desire to enhance FMSP operations. Key attributes include:

  • A collaborative mindset, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders across various levels.
  • A holistic approach to teamwork, promoting a unified 'One Clyde' philosophy.

Benefits

In addition to a competitive salary, the Ministry of Defence offers a comprehensive benefits package, including:

  • 25 days of paid annual leave, increasing to 30 days after five years of service.
  • A robust pension scheme.
  • Flexible working arrangements to support work-life balance.
  • A culture that promotes inclusion and diversity.
  • Opportunities for personal and professional development.
  • Access to various on-site facilities and support services.

We are committed to providing a safe and healthy working environment for all staff, adhering to policies that promote well-being and support for those looking to quit smoking.

We encourage all interested candidates to consider this opportunity to contribute to the vital operations at HMNB Clyde.
