Job Overview

We are excited to offer a unique opportunity for a skilled Pediatric Dietitian to join our team at Swansea Bay University Health Board. This is a new post funded to develop a service with the Adferiad team, focusing on supporting children with Long Covid, other post-viral and fatiguing conditions, chronic pain, and similar conditions.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, including dietetics, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, psychology, and Paediatrician, to provide high-quality care to children and young people. The role will involve:

  • Autonomously managing a caseload, providing assessment and management services to children and young people.
  • Supporting the supervision and mentoring of junior staff members, including student dietitians and support workers.
  • Collaborating with the Paediatric Dietetic team based in Morriston Hospital to ensure seamless care delivery.
  • Participating in clinical audit and quality improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A BSc in Nutrition and Dietetics or equivalent qualification.
  • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Post-registration training in a relevant area.
  • Experience of working as a Specialist Dietitian in Nutrition and Dietetics within a specialist area.
  • Experience of supervising and mentoring staff.
  • Experience of audit and quality improvement methodology.
