Role Overview:
We are seeking a knowledgeable and self-sufficient People Operations Manager to deliver both strategic and operational HR support that aligns with the organization's goals and growth trajectory. You will provide leadership, direction, and guidance to both management and staff on all HR-related matters, overseeing the entire employee lifecycle from onboarding to exit.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic HR Support:
Develop and implement HR strategies, processes, and policies; facilitate succession planning; enhance employee engagement and welfare; monitor HR KPIs. - Operational HR Management:
Manage new employee onboarding (including checks, training, and induction); maintain employee records; oversee contracts, job descriptions, and right to work eligibility; handle communication and changes; coordinate work experience and apprenticeship programs; manage redundancy, grievance, and disciplinary processes; ensure compliance with GDPR and maintain the employee handbook; identify training and development needs; support employee retention and career progression; manage annual leave, sickness, and return-to-work interviews; conduct appraisals; oversee probation periods; manage recruitment and other HR-related issues. - Legal Compliance:
Ensure that all HR processes and procedures are compliant with current employment legislation and immigration laws. - Health and Safety:
Collaborate with the Health & Safety Manager to ensure employee training and certification. - Administrative Duties:
Prepare board reports and manage HR-related administration.
Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Level 5 CIPD qualification.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar HR role (stand-alone HR experience preferred).
- In-depth knowledge of current employment legislation.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Practical problem-solving abilities.
- Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- A flexible approach and the ability to manage changing priorities.
- Capability to multitask and perform well under pressure.
- A high degree of confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy.
- Hands-on experience with HR systems and IT programs.
- Experience in establishing an HR department is desirable.
