Edinburgh, Edinburgh, United Kingdom NHS Scotland Full time

NHS Scotland is dedicated to fostering equality and diversity within our workforce while eliminating any form of unlawful discrimination. Our goal is to ensure that our workforce is genuinely representative, allowing every employee to feel valued and empowered to perform at their best.

We are committed to providing full support to candidates with disabilities, long-term conditions, or neurodivergent individuals by implementing reasonable adjustments in our recruitment policies and practices.

Please be aware that we expect a significant level of interest in this position, and the vacancy may close early once we receive a sufficient number of applications. Therefore, we encourage you to complete and submit your application promptly.

This role is part-time, and the salary will be adjusted accordingly.

This position is an exciting opportunity within the Orchard Clinic Administration team, collaborating with the Serious Offender Liaison Service (SOLS). The SOLS team offers clinical consultation, assessment, and management guidance to assist criminal justice agencies in handling complex and/or high-risk violent and sexual offenders within the community.

The successful candidate will closely collaborate with SOLS clinicians and other members of the multi-disciplinary teams (MDT) situated in the Orchard Clinic, providing essential medical secretarial and administrative support. Responsibilities include:

  • Serving as the primary point of contact for clinicians and MDT members.
  • Managing correspondence, including mail, telephone calls, and electronic communications from clinical and non-clinical staff, patients, relatives, carers, and external agencies.
  • Responding appropriately to inquiries and organizing various aspects of service delivery as needed.
  • Providing input and cover within the Orchard Clinic Administration team as required.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual with excellent communication and organizational skills to contribute to our supportive team.

For further details regarding the role and the skills/experience required, please refer to the links provided for the job description and person specification.

NHS Scotland is transitioning to a reduced full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week, effective from April 2024, with no change in salary. This adjustment will also apply pro-rata for part-time staff. Please note that not all service areas may implement the new working hours immediately, and you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week temporarily, for which you will be compensated until your service area adjusts its rosters or working patterns.
