Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Administrative Assistant to join our Practice Team at NHS Scotland. As an Administrative Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing administrative support to our healthcare professionals, ensuring the smooth operation of our practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients and visitors, responding to queries and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Manage and maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring confidentiality and data protection.
  • Process and manage appointments, results, and repeat prescription requests, ensuring timely and efficient communication with patients and healthcare professionals.
  • Perform administrative tasks, including data entry, scanning, and filing, to support the efficient operation of the practice.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with patients, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders, promoting a positive and supportive environment.

Requirements:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders.
  • Strong administrative skills, with experience in data entry, scanning, and filing.
  • Ability to work accurately and efficiently, with attention to detail and a commitment to confidentiality.
  • Experience in a medical environment, with knowledge of GP-based IT systems, such as EMIS/Vision and Docman, is desirable.
