Job Overview

His Majesty’s Naval Base Clyde (HMNB Clyde) serves as the Single Integrated Operating Base (SIOB) and Submarine Centre of Specialism (SMCoS) for the Royal Navy's submarine operations. This structure enables the Royal Navy to fulfill its operational responsibilities across all Defence Lines of Development from Scotland consistently.

Located at HMNB Clyde in Faslane, we promote Hybrid Working, which combines workplace and remote work, encouraging employees to work three days a week on-site in agreement with their Line Manager.

The advertised role is for 37 hours per week.

This position is classified as a Reserved Post, thus limited to UK National applicants only.

Role Responsibilities

The Delivery Sponsor (DS) North is part of the Delivery Sponsor team within the Deputy Head Infrastructure (DHI) Directorate. This role acts as the customer infrastructure lead for Waterfront North (Northern Utilities) and is accountable for:

  • Leading and developing the Delivery Sponsor team.
  • Serving as Project Sponsor, defining user requirements, and ensuring the successful execution of a 10-year capital investment program valued at approximately £100M, while integrating projects within the operational nuclear authorized site.
  • Functioning as the Intelligent Customer for the maintenance and lifecycle replacement program delivered through an Industry Partner.
  • Collaborating across organizations to achieve integrated and optimal delivery.
  • Ensuring adherence to nuclear site authorization conditions.

Candidate Profile

To be eligible for this position, candidates should possess:

  • Experience in building and leading a dedicated team to achieve ambitious outcomes through collaboration.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage a diverse range of stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Experience in managing infrastructure delivery within an operational context.
  • Completion of the Nuclear Introductory Course, or willingness to attend within one year.
