Company Overview

Role Overview
As a Project Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the technical execution of projects, collaborating closely with contractors to ensure the successful design, manufacturing, installation, and commissioning of systems. Your expertise will be essential in interfacing with multiple projects within the Waste Projects Programme and the broader site delivery team.

Key Responsibilities
- Identify project functional requirements and stakeholder expectations.
- Develop innovative design concepts and engineering solutions tailored to project needs.
- Produce, review, and approve technical specifications for projects.
- Manage detailed design processes in line with established authority standards and regulations.
- Prepare modification proposals and act as a Nominated Responsible Engineer (NRE) for plant modifications.
- Provide technical oversight during commissioning and decommissioning phases.
- Ensure effective handover processes to operations, including the provision of all necessary documentation and training.

Qualifications & Experience
- A minimum of an HNC or equivalent NQF level 4 engineering qualification is essential.
- Proven experience in a mechanical engineering role within an industrial setting is required.
- Familiarity with nuclear or conventional project engineering is essential.
- Understanding of relevant national engineering standards is crucial.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and risk assessment methodologies is desirable.
