Role Overview

As a Project Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the technical execution of projects, collaborating closely with contractors to manage the intricate design, manufacturing, installation, and commissioning processes until project completion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify project functional requirements and stakeholder expectations for assigned initiatives.
  • Develop conceptual designs and engineering solutions tailored to project needs.
  • Produce, review, or approve technical specifications related to the project.
  • Oversee detailed design activities in compliance with design authority standards and relevant regulations.
  • Prepare modification proposals and act as a Nominated Responsible Engineer (NRE) for plant modifications.
  • Provide technical supervision during commissioning and decommissioning phases.
  • Manage the project handover process to ensure all documentation and training materials are complete.
  • Maintain site configuration control of essential documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Adhere to all Environment, Health, Safety, Security, and Quality policies, contributing to continuous improvement efforts.
Qualifications & Experience

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of an HNC or equivalent NQF level 4 engineering qualification.
  • Experience in a mechanical engineering role within an industrial setting.
  • Background in nuclear or conventional project engineering.
  • Familiarity with national engineering standards and safety regulations.
  • Understanding of risk assessment methodologies and quality management systems.
