Professor Vickers, the Project Lead, is the President of ICAD, the International Community for Auditory Display.

The project team has been involved in various sonification initiatives with interdisciplinary themes, including the Leverhulme Trust RADICAL project, focusing on the relationship between sonification design and listener experience, and the international Audio Universe project, which has facilitated the sonification of astronomical data for various stakeholders.

Related interdisciplinary projects emphasize ethnography and embodied listening, such as the Landscape Quartet, which creates site-specific audiovisual exhibits for natural environments, and the Leverhulme Trust project Bee-ing Human, which integrates apiculture into the digital age through collaboration among historians, literary theorists, computer scientists, and biologists.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Applicants should possess a PhD (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science or a closely related field, with specialized knowledge in collaborative software development techniques and familiarity with data sonification and auditory display methods.
