We are seeking a highly skilled Postdoctoral Research Assistant to join our vibrant research environment in the Department of Geography and Environmental Sciences. This is a 2-year opportunity to contribute to a multi-disciplinary team working on the NIHR-funded In2Air project, which aims to investigate the impact of 'net-zero' household energy interventions on indoor air quality, health, and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities- Manage a network of low-cost air quality sensors and engage with participants from diverse communities across Newcastle upon Tyne.
- Conduct individual and collaborative research, including data analytics, interviews, workshops, and public events.
- Contribute to the development of research methodologies and techniques, and write up research work for publication and dissemination.
- Support the delivery of research activity and contribute to impact through knowledge transfer.
The In2Air research project is a collaborative effort across the Faculty of Engineering and Environment, aligned with the Urban Futures Interdisciplinary Research Theme. The project involves working with a multi-disciplinary team across three Departments and with partners at Newcastle University, the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, the Building Research Establishment, and Newcastle City Council.
About YouWe are looking for a candidate with a PhD (or equivalent experience) in a relevant discipline and demonstrable specialist knowledge and skills in air quality monitoring, quantitative research activity, programming, and data analytics. Excellent interpersonal skills and experience working with community participants are essential.
