Position Overview: We are seeking applications for a postdoctoral research associate specializing in stellar astrophysics to contribute to the UKRI-funded SYMPHONY project. This role involves a collaborative effort to analyze diverse data sources for asteroseismic modeling of massive stars, focusing on determining their masses, ages, and internal rotation profiles.

Research Focus: The successful candidate will engage in a two-year research project aimed at detecting and characterizing pulsating magnetic stars, as well as conducting magnetoasteroseismic modeling to better understand their internal magnetic fields. Candidates with a robust research background in spectropolarimetry of early-type stars are especially encouraged to apply. Experience in related analytical methods pertinent to asteroseismology, such as binarity, photometry, spectroscopy, and evolutionary modeling, is also welcomed.

  • Conduct research aligned with the objectives of the funded project.
  • Collaborate effectively within an interdisciplinary research team and with external partners to produce high-impact research.
  • Present research findings to both scientific and non-scientific audiences through written and oral communication.
