Torus Group is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Sheltered Scheme Manager to join our Support Network department. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering personalized support and interventions to older and vulnerable tenants in our sheltered schemes.
Key Responsibilities- Triage frontline housing management services to ensure schemes are fully compliant and provide signposting to relevant specialist teams.
- Respond to day-to-day general inquiries from residents, contractors, and external agencies while on site.
- Manage low-level tenant disputes, liaising with the Safer Estates Team as needed.
- Organize and attend monthly tenant engagement sessions, setting agendas and taking notes.
- Assist in the letting process by conducting risk and needs assessments to minimize void levels.
- Participate in joint viewings of properties with applicants, promoting the benefits of sheltered housing.
- Conduct scheme inductions, ensuring new residents can manage their accommodation safely and securely.
- Provide training on communal facilities, such as laundry equipment and kitchen areas.
- Deliver case management approaches to support tenants in managing their homes safely.
- Conduct annual reviews with residents to identify interventions for safe at-home living.
- Perform daily wellbeing checks and calls based on assessed risk, promoting independence.
- Respond to emergency calls via the emergency system while on duty.
- Support residents in sustaining their tenancy, explaining rights and responsibilities.
- Ensure access to other services, such as Adult Social Care, to meet housing needs.
- Assist with referrals for aids, adaptations, and assistive technology.
- Provide advice on low-level rent arrears and liaise with the Income team.
- Explain online digital services to residents, enabling them to pay rent and report repairs directly.
- Triage domestic abuse incidents according to company service standards.
- Offer advice and assistance with welfare benefit applications.
- CIH level 3 or willingness to work towards.
- Demonstrable experience in sheltered housing, housing, or social care, with older and vulnerable people.
- Track record of completing assessments and developing support plans with targets and outcomes.
- Experience in managing caseloads and multi-agency working.
- Crisis management, risk minimization, and decision-making in difficult situations.
- Ability to keep up-to-date with organizational knowledge and policy processes.
- Listening, understanding, and signposting to meet client needs.
- Safeguarding practices and procedures knowledge.
- Building rapport with clients while maintaining professional boundaries.
