About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Actuarial Specialist to join our Group Risk and Funding team in Liverpool. As a trusted member of the team, you will play a key role in supporting the Actuarial Manager to oversee and manage the technical and professional requirements of the Funding Strategy team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Providing technical actuarial support to USSIM in their role as investment manager and advisor
  • Developing stochastic models to consider asset liability risk and development of benefit structures
  • Being a point of contact with the Scheme Actuary's team on the technical and professional aspects of actuarial work
What You Will Be Doing

As a valued member of the Group Risk and Funding team, you will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the Actuarial Manager to manage and oversee the technical and professional aspects of the work undertaken by the Funding Strategy Team
  • Developing the systems used by the team
  • Developing communication of technical issues
  • Developing professional responsibilities and compliance
  • Providing technical support for the actuarial input to the Scheme's valuation
  • Overseeing the technical development of the regular reporting of the Financial Management Plan monitoring, including coordinating inputs in respect of covenant and investment
  • Providing technical support on the actuarial input to support the administration of the Scheme
  • Supporting the Actuarial Manager in providing technical actuarial support to USSIM
  • Supporting the Actuarial Manager in managing the relationship with Moody in relation to the valuation software (PFaroe)
  • Contributing to managing the working relationship between the Funding Strategy Team and the Scheme Actuary's Team
  • Supporting the Actuarial Manager in developing actuarial materials for the executive and the Board
About You

We are looking for a qualified Fellow of the Faculty and Institute of Actuaries with experience of managing both technical and professional aspects of actuarial work. You will have good communication skills to facilitate understanding of the issues.
