Actuarial Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Actuarial Specialist to join our Group Risk and Funding team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for providing technical actuarial support to the Actuarial Manager and the Funding Strategy Team.
Key Responsibilities- Support the Actuarial Manager in managing and overseeing the technical and professional aspects of the work undertaken by the Funding Strategy Team.
- Develop and maintain systems used by the team to ensure efficient and effective delivery of actuarial services.
- Develop and communicate technical issues to stakeholders, including the Scheme Actuary's Team and external parties.
- Develop and maintain professional responsibilities and compliance with relevant regulatory requirements.
- Provide technical support for the actuarial input to the Scheme's valuation and financial management plan monitoring.
- Oversee the technical development of regular reporting of the Financial Management Plan monitoring, including coordinating inputs in respect of covenant and investment.
- Support the Actuarial Manager in providing technical actuarial support to USSIM and managing the relationship with Moody in relation to the valuation software (PFaroe).
- Contribute to managing the working relationship between the Funding Strategy Team and the Scheme Actuary's Team.
- Support the Actuarial Manager in developing actuarial materials for the executive and the Board.
We are looking for a qualified Fellow of the Faculty and Institute of Actuaries with experience of managing both technical and professional aspects of actuarial work. You should have good communication skills to facilitate understanding of technical issues and be able to work effectively in a team environment.
