Job Overview:


We are seeking a skilled Maintenance and Engineering Technician with a solid background in a manufacturing setting to perform both planned preventative and reactive maintenance tasks.


You will work at our advanced components manufacturing site, equipped with state-of-the-art machinery valued at over £50 million. Your expertise in electrical and mechanical troubleshooting will be essential, along with a proactive approach to maintaining productivity through planned maintenance.



Key Responsibilities:
1. Adhere to the Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule for all machinery.
2. Maintain an inventory of critical spare parts for all equipment.
3. Conduct general maintenance of site infrastructure.
4. Perform periodic safety inspections on equipment.
5. Serve as the first point of contact for equipment malfunctions, coordinating with external engineers as necessary.
6. Document breakdown repair activities.
7. Complete daily reports detailing maintenance activities and equipment status.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
1. Completion of an apprenticeship with City & Guilds and NVQ in engineering or equivalent qualifications.
2. Proficient in fault diagnosis (both electrical and mechanical); PLC experience is advantageous.
3. Ensure repairs are carried out efficiently and cost-effectively.
4. Collaborate with all stakeholders to minimize downtime and enhance equipment efficiency.
5. Basic computer skills.
6. Understanding of pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
7. Timely and effective reporting of feedback.
8. Conduct root cause analysis to identify faults down to the component level.
9. Safety-conscious with relevant Health and Safety training.
10. Familiarity with machinery such as CNC Punch Machines, Press Brakes, Fibre & Co2 Lasers, Robotic Welding, and manual welding equipment is beneficial.
