Job Overview:


We are seeking a Maintenance and Engineering Technician with a solid background in a manufacturing setting to perform both planned preventative and reactive maintenance tasks.


You will be based at our advanced components manufacturing site, equipped with state-of-the-art machinery valued at over £50 million. A strong understanding of electrical and mechanical troubleshooting is essential, along with a proactive approach to effective maintenance practices.

You will report directly to the Site Manager.

Key Responsibilities:
- Adhere to the Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule for all machinery
- Maintain an inventory of critical spare parts for equipment
- Conduct general maintenance of site infrastructure
- Perform periodic safety inspections on machinery
- Serve as the first point of contact for equipment malfunctions, coordinating with external engineers as necessary
- Document breakdown repair activities
- Prepare daily reports detailing maintenance activities and equipment status

Qualifications & Skills:
- Apprentice trained with City & Guilds and NVQ in engineering or equivalent qualifications
- Experience in fault diagnosis (both electrical and mechanical); PLC knowledge is advantageous
- Ensure repairs are conducted efficiently and cost-effectively
- Collaborate with all stakeholders to minimize downtime and enhance equipment productivity
- Basic computer skills
- Familiarity with pneumatic and hydraulic systems
- Timely and effective reporting of maintenance feedback
- Conduct root cause analysis to identify faults down to the component level
- A strong commitment to safety and ideally relevant Health and Safety training

Preferred Knowledge:
Familiarity with the following or similar machinery is beneficial:

  • CNC Punch Machines
  • Press Brakes
  • Fibre & Co2 Lasers
  • Robotic Welding
  • Manual Welding Equipment Maintenance
