About the Role

We are seeking a visionary leader to spearhead our Racial Justice Priority, driving transformative change within the Diocese of London. As the Director of Racial Justice Initiatives, you will be responsible for fostering a culture of love, fairness, equity, justice, collaboration, and integrity across our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategies to break down mental, cultural, and institutional barriers that hinder true race equality within our diocesan structures, policies, and processes.
  • Facilitate learning opportunities to enhance understanding of the injustice and impact of racism, promoting empathy and inclusivity.
  • Collaborate with the Lead Bishop on Racial Justice and other stakeholders to deliver and implement our strategic priority, ensuring tangible action and meaningful progress.
  • Lead the development of initiatives that address the historical legacy of slavery and challenge systemic racism, promoting truth-telling and accountability.
  • Engage with stakeholders across and at all levels of the Church, inspiring and motivating them to join our journey towards a more racially just organization.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in leading diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, with a strong track record of driving meaningful change.
  • Excellent leadership and collaboration skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and implement effective strategies.
  • Passion for social justice and a commitment to creating a more equitable and inclusive organization.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing multiple tasks and deadlines.
