About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Racial Justice Development Lead to join our team at Charity People. The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting and implementing the Diocesan Anti-Racism Charter (ARC) across the Diocese of Southwark.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advocate for racial justice within Diocesan structures, promoting best practices in diversity, inclusion, and belonging with a biblical foundation.
  • Provide support and advice to parishes, deaneries, and clergy on implementing the Anti-Racism Charter and developing culturally appropriate worship and faith practices.
  • Collaborate with parishes, schools, and Area Racial Justice Groups to share experiences, support meetings, and coordinate events related to racial justice.
  • Collect, analyze, and report data on racial injustice, ensuring alignment with Diocesan and National Church Requirements, while staying informed on relevant trends.
Requirements
  • A strong understanding of racial justice, anti-racism, equality, and inclusion, especially within a church context.
  • Proven ability to lead engagement/change programmes.
  • Collaboration skills, with the ability to work with diverse stakeholders from various disciplines and perspectives.
  • Experience in organizing medium to large events.
