About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Racial Justice Development Lead to join our team at Charity People. As a key member of our organization, you will play a vital role in promoting and implementing the Diocesan Anti-Racism Charter (ARC) across the Diocese of Southwark.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advocate for Racial Justice: Promote best practices in diversity, inclusion, and belonging within Diocesan structures, with a focus on biblical foundations.
  • Support and Advice: Provide guidance and support to parishes, deaneries, and clergy on implementing the Anti-Racism Charter and developing culturally appropriate worship and faith practices.
  • Collaboration and Partnership: Work with parishes, schools, and Area Racial Justice Groups to share experiences, support meetings, and coordinate events related to racial justice.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Collect, analyze, and report data on racial injustice, ensuring alignment with Diocesan and National Church Requirements.
Requirements
  • Strong Understanding of Racial Justice: Proven ability to lead engagement/change programs and a strong understanding of racial justice, anti-racism, equality, and inclusion within a church context.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders from various disciplines and perspectives, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Event Organization: Experience in organizing medium to large events and a willingness to understand the structure and dynamics of the Church of England and its Dioceses.
