Racial Justice Training and Resources Officer

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate and enhance our current Unconscious Bias training program, incorporating lessons learned to create a more effective and impactful experience.
  • Deliver racial justice training to parishes and Diocesan staff, with a focus on Unconscious Bias training and its application in real-world scenarios.
  • Develop a "Train the Trainers" approach, supporting the training of parish leaders and Diocesan staff in becoming racial justice training trainers.
  • Identify training and resource needs for various stakeholders, ensuring a comprehensive and inclusive approach.
  • Research and incorporate new models into a training pathway, exploring areas such as theology, power, privilege, and prejudice.
  • Liaise with other Dioceses and the National Church to learn from and adopt best practices for racial justice training content and delivery.
  • Collaborate with department members to establish a coordinated training program, offering both face-to-face training and eLearning opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain an evaluation process for training, including the creation of impact indicators to measure success.
  • Advocate for Racial Justice within Diocesan structures, promoting best practices regarding racial justice, diversity, and inclusion.
