Job Summary:

The London Diocesan Fund is seeking a visionary leader to spearhead its racial justice priority. As the Head of Racial Justice Priority, you will be responsible for fostering a culture of love, fairness, equity, justice, collaboration, and integrity within the Diocese of London.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Leadership: Collaborate with the London College of Bishops to develop and implement a comprehensive racial justice strategy, aligning with the Diocese's mission and values.
  2. Racial Justice Education: Facilitate learning opportunities to increase understanding of racism's impact and foster a culture of empathy and inclusivity.
  3. Barriers and Bias Reduction: Identify and dismantle mental, cultural, and institutional barriers that hinder true race equality within the diocesan structures, policies, and processes.
  4. Truth-Telling and Accountability: Lead efforts to address the historical legacy of slavery and challenge systemic racism, promoting a culture of transparency and accountability.

Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will need to demonstrate:

  • Strategic thinking: Develop and implement effective strategies to drive racial justice initiatives.
  • Collaboration and communication: Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders across the Diocese, including the Lead Bishop on Racial Justice.
  • Resilience and adaptability: Navigate complex challenges and adapt to changing circumstances while maintaining a commitment to racial justice.
  • Passion for diversity and inclusion: Demonstrate a deep understanding of and commitment to creating a more inclusive and equitable environment.
